Certificate of Analysis format
Your guide to the changes
Results of testing are broken down into three categories:
- Results which have been reviewed by a Medical Review Officer (MRO)
- Overall analytical outcome with confirmation analyte details where applicable
- Point of Collection Testing (POCT) results
Previously, you will have seen all applicable results from categories 1-3 on separate sections on your Certificate of Analysis. Due to our format change you will now only ever see one ‘results section’ on your Certificate of Analysis, displaying one row per drug. The result that is displayed on this row will be that of the highest level of testing performed, with 1 being the highest and 3 being the lowest.
For example, if your sample is screened at our laboratory or on site using an instant POCT testing device and was then subsequently confirmed for a particular drug group, you will only see the confirmation results for that drug. For any drug groups that were not confirmed, you will see the screening or POCT results. Please note that you should never see a positive result that has not been tested via confirmatory testing as all non-negative screens should be sent for further analysis.
Similarly, if your sample has been confirmed but has subsequently been reviewed by an MRO, then the result you will see will be the result that the MRO has provided.
By showing only the final outcome of your testing, this new format provides your results in a clear and concise way, allowing you to concentrate fully on what the outcome means to you with the utmost confidence.
